What is breast augmentation?
It is surgery that places breast implants to add volume and restore shape. It is different from a breast lift (mastopexy), which raises sagging breasts without adding volume. The two are sometimes combined; that decision is made at your consultation.

Choosing your implants

The operation and recovery
Breast augmentation is usually performed under general anaesthesia and takes about one to two hours. The incision is small and discreet, usually in the fold under the breast. Expect tightness and discomfort for the first days, managed with prescribed medication. You wear a surgical bra for several weeks. Most patients return to desk work after about a week and to sport after about six weeks, with the surgeon’s approval.
When will I see the final result?
The new volume is visible straight away, but the implants settle into their final position over a few months as swelling goes down. The scar fades over the first year.
